WAYS OF APPLICATION

Ecowool application is very different from other methods of heating. Ecowool is installed on the insulated surface by spraying, or laying. The peculiarity of insulation is that the insulating layer is smooth, dense and solid, and leaves no seams to let the heat out.

Dry blowing

A progressive method of installing ecowool insulation (in an industrial environment and with large volumes of work) is the method of spraying with blowing equipment. Due to the fact that it is installed in the insulated space by spraying under pressure, ecowool penetrates even into the most hard-to-get cavities and gaps, forming a tight seamless layer of insulation. The material density in the horizontal joists should be 30-35 kg/m³, in the sloping constructions (attics) and walls - 45 kg/m³.

Wet spraying

Wet spraying is used less frequently than dry blowing (when dry insulation is impossible). The main places of application are the facades of buildings, hangars, warehouses, without sewing the insulation.

Hand installation

It is very simple to work with ecowool at heating your own house.

You should open the bag and pour the contents into any basin (better into 50 liters wash-basin or an old bath). To make the transportation easier and reduce the volume ecowool is compressed when packing (the density of the material in the package is ~ 150 kg/m³), so it should be loosen (required!!!) to a solid state. After this operation the ecowool is ready for use.

Ecowool is easily laid on the insulated surface (floors, ceilings, lofts). The density of insulation at hand layering is somewhat of 35-40 kg/m³ for horizontal surfaces. When insulating the floor it is recommended to fill the insulator 1-2 cm above the lag (the lags themselves are not filled) and then to lay the floor grounds (chipboard, OSB-plate), as a result ecowool compresses to the springy state and will not shrink.

It is more difficult to fill the walls with the insulator; the density of laying should be no less than 45-50 kg/m³. Typically, the inner lining layer (if lining is used as the internal finishing layer of the box construction) is risen to a height of about half a meter, and the formed niche is filled with ecowool which is stamped by hand to springy condition (height of more than half a meter is harder to be stamped by hand). Then the following half a meter of lining is laid, etc. One can control the density of laying with a simple calculation: the required quantity of insulation per square meter is equal to the weight of the bag, divided by the required density of layering. That is, you have to control that a square meter of the wall is filled with the necessary quantity of ecowool and nothing less. To avoid dust formation immediately after installing the insulator it is better to put thick paper between the boards and the insulation. (Later the material will be compressed and no dust will be formed).

It is fair to note that ecowool consumption at manual installation is 10% higher than with blowing machines for the same constructions. Most often, with large amounts of insulation it is better to use the services of specialists with blowing machines.
